Seed of Faith Christian Fellowship
Healthy Living
Our church believes in serving the 'whole of man' not only the 'soul of man'. We provide a vibrant Healthy Living ministry to promote a sound mind, body and soul. Through this ministry we offer healthy lifestyle, exercise and nutritional tips. The purpose of this ministry is to encourage every person regardless of age or gender to obtain the 'fullness' in life that our Lord says we can achieve. This is where we can obtain the abundance in life as we honor God and serve man.
Daily Activity
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It can help:
-
Control your weight
-
Reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease
-
Reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
-
Reduce your risk of some cancers
-
Strengthen your bones and muscles
-
Improve your mental health and mood
-
Improve your ability to do daily activities and prevent falls, if you're an older adult
-
Increase your chances of living longer
If you're not sure about becoming active or boosting your level of physical activity because you're afraid of getting hurt, the good news is that moderate-intensity aerobic activity, like brisk walking, is generally safe for most people.
Regular Doctor's Visits/Check-Ups
Regular health exams and tests can help find problems before they start. They also can help find problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better. By getting the right health services, screenings, and treatments, you are taking steps that help your chances for living a longer, healthier life. Your age, health and family history, lifestyle choices (i.e. what you eat, how active you are, whether you smoke), and other important factors impact what and how often you need healthcare.
Eating Right
Your food choices each day affect your health — how you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future. Your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.
